The Sad and Tragic Loss of Jo Cox

We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Jo Cox.

Jo was a kind, caring and warm soul who spoke out and fought against injustice everywhere.

We recall her lovely and friendly nature when she came to visit the school on her campaign trail back in October 2014 and have a fond memory of her talk with the students.

It is a real loss for the community and we can only hope and pray that we remain united now more than ever as Jo said it best in her maiden Parliamentary speech when she said “we have far more in common than that which divides us.”

From the whole of the Zakaria School community we send our deepest condolences and our thoughts and prayers are with Jo and her family at this difficult time.

In respect and tribute towards Jo, the school will close early at 10:30am on Friday 17th June.
